Tuan Hoang, Founder and Chief Executive Officer
Tuan Hoang received his B.S. degree in biological sciences from the California Institute of Technology, Pasadena . As a doctoral graduate student in the Interdepartmental Ph.D. Program for Neuroscience at UCLA, Tuan focused on applying neuroengineering principles for the study of neurodegeneration and neurorepair through the use of animal models. Since 2006, he has been a faculty member in the Department of Biomedical Engineering at the University of Southern California, Los Angeles.
Ellis Meng, Founder and Chief Scientific Officer
Ellis Meng received her B.S. degree in Engineering and Applied Science from the California Institute of Technology, Pasadena. She pursued her graduate studies in Electrical Engineering, receiving her M.S. and her Ph.D. at the same institution. Currently she is an associate professor of biomedical engineering and heads the Biomedical Microsystems Laboratory at the University of Southern California. She has received the National Science Foundation Early Career Award and the Wallace H. Coulter Early Career Translational Research Award. She was recognized as one of the TR35 Technology Review 35 Young Innovators Under 35 in 2009.
Christian Gutierrez. Chief Technology Officer
Christian Gutierrez is a trained electrical engineer with expertise in biomedical microelectromechanical systems (BioMEMS), fabrication and packaging of biomedical microdevices, neural interfaces and neural prosthetics. After graduating with a Masters in Electrical Engineering from the California Institute of Technology, Christian completed a PhD in Biomedical Engineering at the University of Southern California. While at USC he also earned a certification in Technology Commercialization at the Marshall School of Business and Lloyd Greif Center for Entrepreneurial studies.
